Do you want to meet new people? Are you interested in getting involved in your local community? If so, come along to the weekly coffee mornings, held at Custom House and Canning Town Libraries.

Coffee mornings are run by the local Community Neighbourhood Team at Newham Council. In Custom House and Canning Town, the team run coffee mornings in both libraries every week, to give residents the opportunity to meet new people, discuss issues, share ideas and get involved in projects. Whether you want to start volunteering, report an issue where you live, apply for Let’s Get the Party Started Funding, or if you’re just curious about what’s going on in your library, the Community Neighbourhood Team will be happy to help.

Local organisations and groups often come along and there are regular events during coffee mornings. The first coffee morning of the month in both libraries is ‘Meet the Regeneration Team’, which is a chance to find out more about the regeneration of Custom House and Canning Town. The last coffee morning is ‘Meet the Police’, a chance to find out what your local Safer Neighbourhood Team are doing and to raise any issues.

In Custom House Library, coffee mornings are on Tuesdays from 11-12.30. In Canning Town Library, coffee mornings are on Thursdays from 10-11.30am.
